Anna Jupowicz-Ginalska, PhD, University Prof.

Anna Jupowicz-Ginalska is an Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw in the Faculty of Journalism, Information, and Book Studies. Additionally, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Doctoral School of Social Sciences. Prof. Jupowicz-Ginalska is an accomplished author and presenter, having published numerous papers and actively participated in many academic conferences. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Media Business Studies and the Reviewers Board for Future Internet, Sustainability, and Social Sciences. She serves on the Scientific Boards of Journalism and Media, Styles of Communication, Revista Multidisciplinar, and Journal of Creative Industries and Cultural Studies. In 2010, she won the “Golden Wings” award for her book “Media Marketing”.

Prof. Jupowicz-Ginalska initiates and leads the research project “FOMO. Poles and Fear of Missing Out” (2018-…), the first representative study of FOMO and its related phenomena in Poland. Additionally, Prof. Jupowicz-Ginalska is a co-investigator in the project “Diversity Management as Innovation in Journalism” (POLS): where she is a part of the Ukrainian Task Force focusing on D&I related to the war in Ukraine (https://managingnewsroomdiversity.com).

She is an experienced academic teacher and practitioner, having developed her skills in PR agencies, media, and as a representative of the Dean for Promotion.

Prof. Jupowicz-Ginalska is the initiator and team leader of The Knowledge-Share Communities (#university&emmahub) and an active member of the emma community. She also leads the Organising Committee of the World Media Economics and Management Conference 2025, held in Warsaw on May 20-24 (www.wmemc2025.wdib.uw.edu.pl).

Research interests: media marketing, media management, media diversity and inclusion, the impact of new technologies on human life, FOMO and related phenomena, VR, and media polarization.

Michał Głowacki, PhD, University Prof.

Michał Głowacki is an Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw in Poland. He has successfully led several research projects funded by prominent organizations such as the European Commission, the Danish Agency for Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Swedish Institute, the Research Council of Norway, Poland’s National Science Center, the National Agency for Academic Exchange, and the Polish-American Fulbright Commission.

Research interests: media policy, public service media, and innovation culture.

Bogdan Andruszczenko, MA

Bogdan Andruszczenko is a PhD student in the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, specializing in media and communication. He works as a Mobility Coordinator at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw. His doctoral dissertation is focusing on post-politics in social media.

Research interests: ost-politics, propaganda, mediatization of politics, media image of politicians.

Adam Balcerzak, MSc

Adam Balcerzak, MSc

IT engineer, a graduate of the University of Humanities and Economics in Lodz. The lead IT specialist and webmaster at the Laboratory of Media Studies at the University of Warsaw, but also the owner of a web-fabryka.com interactive agency.

Research interests: biometrics and topics related to servers, in particular virtualization. It follows with interest the market and the development of new technologies, as well as the way they are used in the everyday life of the media, companies and ordinary people.

Martyna Dudziak-Kisio, MA

Martyna Dudziak-Kisio, MA

Martyna Dudziak-Kisio is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, specializing in social communication and media studies. She is also a collaborator at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw in Poland. Additionally, she has managed three scientific projects and has been awarded two scholarships by the city of Warsaw.

Research interests: intersection of media issues, aging societies, and digital well-being.

Katarzyna Iwanicka, PhD

Katarzyna Iwanicka, PhD

Katarzyna Iwanicka, PhD, is a graduate of both the Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw. She obtained her doctorate in medical sciences from the Medical University of Lublin in 2015. Currently, she works as a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, having previously been employed as an assistant professor at the University of Justice. Alongside her academic work, she is also a psychotherapist and holds certifications as an addiction therapist and psychosocial skills trainer. She is also a trainee supervisor in the field of addiction psychotherapy.

Jacek Mikucki is an Assistant Professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has been involved in several projects related to media and communication in smart cities, media platforms, and media-related risks and opportunities for deliberative communication. He also has professional experience and practical skills in editorial offices, marketing, public relations, and internal communication departments.

Research interests: new forms of media, local communication, audiovisual arts, and creative industries.

Dagmara Sidyk-Furman, MA

Dagmara Sidyk-Furman, MA

University of Warsaw

Dagmara Sidyk-Furman is a PhD candidate at the University of Warsaw, Poland. She holds degrees in law, as well as journalism and media studies. She has been involved in several domestic and international research projects, including collaborations with the European Commission, Poland’s National Broadcasting Council, and the NGO sector.

Research interests: media law and policy, media literacy, and media ecologies.

Agnieszka Wojtukiewicz, MA

Agnieszka Wojtukiewicz is a PhD candidate in the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw, specializing in social communication and media studies. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on news avoidance in Poland. She completed her undergraduate studies in economics and e-business at the Warsaw School of Economics, and in journalism and media studies at the University of Warsaw. Professionally, she works as a PR expert for one of the leading retailers in Poland.

Research interests: relationship between media and business, information behavior, and corporate social responsibility.

Ksenia Wróblewska, MA

Ksenia Wróblewska is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw, specializing in social communication and media studies. She holds degrees in Journalism and Media Studies, Cultural Studies – Intercultural Relations, and American Studies – Culture of the United States. Ksenia’s doctoral dissertation focuses on media marketing strategies for on-demand (VOD) platforms. In addition to her academic pursuits, Ksenia works as a Project Management Team Lead in the advertising agency, where she collaborates with clients from all over the world and oversees the implementation of e-commerce, digital, and web maintenance projects.

Research interests: marketing, media marketing, social advertising, online advertising, television, social problems in the United States.

Anita Zawisza, PhD

Anita Zawisza, PhD

Anita Zawisza is an Assistant Professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland. She completed her doctoral studies in film and audiovisual research. She is a member of several Polish associations including the Poles Abroad Digital Library (PBC) and the Polish Society for Film and Media Research (PTBFiM). Anita has scholarly experience in preserving Poland’s cultural heritage and has participated in several film festivals both in Poland and other European countries.

Research interests: socially engaged cinema, religious film research, and image research.

Malwina Żuchniewicz, MA

Malwina Żuchniewicz is a PhD student in the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw, with a focus on communication and media studies. Since 2017, she has been a specialist in promotion at the Faculty of Journalism, Information, and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw. She has co-organized several significant conferences, including the Annual Conference of the European Media Management Association, Congress of Public Relations Professionals, and Congress of the Polish Communication Association.

Research interests: communication, crisis communication, image crisis, crisis management, social media.

Hubert Kuliński, MA

Hubert Kuliński is a lecturer, media and public relations specialist, psychologist, and a PhD candidate in communication and media at the Faculty of Journalism and Book Studies, University of Warsaw. He is a member of The International Association for Media and Communication Research.

Research interests: political communication, media psychology, public relations, and communication ethics.
