The first day of The Knowledge-Share Communities (#university&emmahub) is over. Participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Zygmunt Lalak, Dean of Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies Prof. Janusz W. Adamowski, Prof. Anna Jupowicz-Ginalska (the organizer of the event), dir. Kamil DÄ…browa, the Spokesperson for the City of Warsaw and Prof. Castulus Kolo, President of the European Media Management Association.
During the first round-table discussion media practitioners shared how their work changed in the early weeks of the war, emphasizing the importance of source verification and building a reliable team. All the guests agreed that they had to deal with a huge problem with fake news and fact-checking.
Later the participants of The Knowledge-Share Communities (#university&emmahub) were divided into four groups working on specific thematic paths:
- media policies, CSR, and grassroots initiatives,
- news management,
- entertainment and culture offer,
- media education.
Representatives from different countries talked about mechanisms, best practices, and effective solutions implemented in the media during the war in Ukraine.
