First, we have Luhova Tetiana, PhD, from Odesa National Polytechnic University. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History and serves as an assistant professor at the Information Activity and Media Communications Department of Odesa National Polytechnic University (Ukraine). Her research interests encompass game-based learning, gamification of education, serious games in higher education, knowledge management, spirituality in digital culture, traditional and modern culture, folk creativity, convergent journalism, folk pedagogy, as well as journalistic ethics.

Next is Mariia Butyrina, PhD, from Dnipro University of Technology. Dr. Butyrina is a Professor in the Marketing Department at Dnipro University of Technology, with a Doctor of Sciences in Social Communications. She has authored over 200 publications on topics related to media education, media psychology, applied communication technologies, and the competence approach in the system of journalism education.

The third researcher from Ukraine who has joined our project is Witkoria Szewczenko, PhD, from Kyiv National Economic University. Dr. Szewczenko is a highly accomplished academic and a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. She currently serves as the head of the Department of Multimedia Technologies and Media Design at the Institute of Journalism. Additionally, she holds important positions as a scientific secretary, a member of the scientific and methodical council of the Institute of Journalism, and a member of the scientific and methodical commission for journalism and information of the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine.

We will be hosting Svitlana Bezchotnikova, PhD, University Prof., from Mariupol State University. Dr. Bezchotnikova is a Doctor of Philology and a Professor of Social Communications, currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Mass Communications at Mariupol State University. She has authored 108 scientific publications on various topics, including radio journalism, e-governance, corporate social responsibility, and innovative communication technologies, which have been published in Ukraine and abroad. Dr. Bezchotnikova also combines teaching with practical work, serving as the director of the TV and radio company EUROSTUDIO and the founder of the Mariupol Radio Group Agency (2015), which provides information and advertising support for eight radio stations in the city of Mariupol and the Azov region.

The next guest from Ukraine is Nataliia Voitovych, PhD, University Prof., from Lviv National University. With over 20 years of experience as a journalist, Dr. Voitovych is also a media trainer, media literacy trainer, member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, member of the club for trainers “Media Literacy Workshop,” and founder of the public organization “You – Media.” Her field of scientific interests includes media discourses, media literacy, media psychology, journalistic ethics, informational security, political rhetoric, media studies, political studies, media representations, socio-political representations, media narratives, socio-political narratives, symbolic and language politics.

Additionally, we are happy to introduce the members of IREX Ukraine. It will be Maryna Dorosh, MA, Senior Technical Advisor of the Learn to Discern project at IREX in Ukraine. She leads the implementation of a media literacy program that has reached more than 80,000 primary school students and supports journalists, civil servants, and the public in countering disinformation. Maryna also focuses on curriculum development, integrating media literacy into educational materials, and designing training for educators and the public. She has valuable experience in the journalism and NGO sectors. Svitlana Zholobaylo, who ran the Ukraine Media Partnership Program (UMPP) since 2009. Svitlana actively communicates with media managers and journalists in Ukraine and the U.S. on various topics, including media development, the professional exchange of knowledge, and new models of financial sustainability for media.
