From Eastern Europe, we are honored to welcome guests from Lithuania and Latvia. From Lithuania, we will be joined by two distinguished professors from Vytautas Magnus University. Allow us to introduce Prof. Auksė Balčytienė and Kristina Juraitė, PhD. Prof. Auksė Balčytienė is a highly accomplished professor of Journalism and Communication at the Department of Public Communications at VMU. Additionally, she co-chairs the renowned UNESCO Chair on Media and Information Literacy for Inclusive Knowledge Societies. Prof. Kristina Juraitė, based at the Department of Public Communications at Vytautas Magnus University, serves as the head of the department and is a co-founder of the UNESCO Chair on Media and Information Literacy for Inclusive Knowledge Societies. Currently, she is actively involved in coordinating the Horizon Europe project DIACOMET – Fostering capacity building for civic resilience and participation: Dialogic communication ethics and accountability. From Latvia, we will have Prof. Ilva Skulte, a University Professor from Riga Stradins University. Prof. Ilva Skulte holds a doctoral degree in the history of language, which she earned in 1999. Since 2001, she has been an active and valued member of the Department of Communication Studies at Riga Stradins University. Within the department, Prof. Skulte imparts her knowledge through teaching courses on the history of communication, cultural journalism, and various aspects of communication theory.
