In the second panel of The Knowledge-Share Communities (#university&emmahub), we will focus on the role of Warsaw during the times of war. Due to its proximity to Ukraine, Poland served as a refuge for many Ukrainian citizens in the initial weeks of the conflict. Providing aid to Ukrainians required extensive organizational efforts and logistics. Thousands of people spontaneously engaged in helping those in need. However, for the aid to be effective, it needed to be properly coordinated.
Panel participants are individuals who understand how to effectively provide aid. The participants of discussion will be Dariusz Osica, representing the Warsaw City Hall as the Director for Strategy and Analysis, Maryna Dorosh, Senior Technical Advisor of the Learn to Discern project at IREX in Ukraine, Maria Kordalewska, Ph.D., a volunteer, and coordinator at refugee help centers in Warsaw, and Greta Gober, Ph.D., from The Managing Newsroom Diversity project.
Similar to the previous panel, the discussion will be live-streamed to reach the widest possible audience.
The discussion will be moderated by Göran Bolin, Professor of Media and Communication Studies at Södertörn University, Sweden.
